Memorify

Memorify is a museum exhibit that delves into the complex relationship between human intelligence and artificial intelligence. It raises profound questions: What defines a human being and individuality? Is it our intricate brains, or is it our unique memories? As we age, our memories inevitably become fragmented and subjective, often distorting the truth of past experiences.

Inspired by the advancements in AI-generated imagery, this exhibit explores a bold idea: Can we describe our fragmented, fuzzy memories to AI and have it reconstruct these incomplete recollections—memories that are often far from the actual events? In this identity system, the distance between points visually represents the clarity and accuracy of memories. AI-generated images, using platforms like MidJourney, create vibrant and subjective representations of vague human memories—evoking a sense of familiarity yet tinged with distortions. In contrast, human memories are symbolized through timeless black-and-white photographs, representing the richness and complexity of the moments they encapsulate.
